Accommodation in Crieff

Crieff is the second largest town in Perthshire, with a fascinating history. It came to prominence as a major cattle market and commercial centre during the 18th century, in part because General Wade's military road-building put the town on the main marching route from Stirling to Perth in the early 1700s. A later wave of Victorian house building helped Crieff prosper and grow further, and the interest and attractiveness of the architectural legacy were acknowledged when much of the town was declared a Conservation Area in 2009.

Crieff's situation centrally on the southern borders of the Scottish Highlands makes it an idea location as a holiday centre. In one direction the Highlands are immediately on the doorstep, so that the visitor can be alone in rugged wilderness within twenty minutes, yet Glasgow and Edinburgh are only one hour away to the south.

For the holiday maker there is a great choice of accommodation in Crieff and Strathearn , and the town offers much to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. There is a wide choice of cottages, lodges, Guest houses, Hotels, bed and breakfast establishments and apartment properties in the town itself as well as in the surrounding area, with the prospect of a fine Perthshire welcome wherever you go. Some accommodation providers know that the family pet makes the family holiday complete, and will welcome your dog who in turn will relish the huge local scope for walkies! The choice of places to eat in Crieff is wide, with opportunities to try excellent traditional Scottish food or choose from a variety of other cooking styles in the many restaurants or cafes.
