Booking and Information

Spaces are limited so to avoid disappointment it is important that you book a place for any walk/activity as soon as possible.

You will be able to book on-line, and pay either by PayPal there and then. OR book on-line and send a cheque payable to VisitScotland to the Crieff Tourist Information Centre (details below), OR book on-line and phone the Crieff Tourist Information Centre on 01764 652578 to make payment by credit card or switch. On receipt of payment, you will receive confirmation of your purchase and any relevant documentation.

Cancellations & Refunds

Please note that the Admin Fee of £5 per adult is non-refundable. Any transport fees following a cancellation prior to the Tryst week will be refunded if the place is refilled or at the Committees discretion, less the 10% which the Drovers' Tryst pays to VisitScotland as a booking fee. Any cancellation after the 3rd October 2009 will not be refunded. Any monies over will be used to keep the Drovers' Tryst financially healthy and give it a secure future. Charges for the Hairy Coo Mountain Bike Challenge, the St Fillan's Mountain Bike Challenge, other activities, workshops and social events are non-refundable, unless at the Committee's discretion.

Dogs

Much as we like them, obedient and friendly though they can be, we have to point out that dogs are not allowed on the guided walks out of consideration for others. This does not apply to guide dogs accompanying registered blind or deaf walkers, though please be aware that many of the walks involve negotiating gates, walls, fences or stiles and will often involve potential trip hazards.

Vulnerable Adults or Young People

The nature of hill-walking potentially involves leaders or other participants in providing close assistance to others. For everybody's protection those people classified as 'vulnerable adults' or young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an appropriate carer or responsible adult. If you have any specific concerns in this area please contact the organisers. No special arrangements are available to provide independent supervision of vulnerable people. None of the walks are age restricted. However the accompanying carer takes full responsibility for them. The carer or parent is best placed to judge the capability of their charges.

Medical

Any medical conditions should be advised to the organisers and leaders before each walk as many will be going into remote areas where assistance is not necessarily immediately forthcoming. Any information provided will be kept in strictest confidence. You should also have the next of kin in an easily accessible place on your person during the walk (or ICE as one of your contacts in your mobile phone). If you are in any doubt about your standard of fitness please consult your GP. There is a small cottage hospital in Crieff, but the nearest A&E services are in Perth and Dundee.
