Drovers' Tryst Walking Festival - 9th to 17th October 2010

Outdoor Activities in Crieff

Crieff has so much to offer in the way of outdoor activities.

Strathearn is a great place for walking, of course, and from easy strolling to more organised guided walks there are many options for the walker to choose from throughout the year. The annual Drovers' Tryst walking festival in October makes the most of that scope but it also includes walks that embrace other interests such as photography and geocaching.

Mountain biking is available all year round on the network of handmade trails at Comrie Croft, between Crieff and Comrie, and during the Tryst week the Hairy Coo mountain bike race is held there, giving riders of all ages and levels of ability the chance to compete and enjoy both the course and the surrounding countryside.

Throughout the year, many other activities are available in Strathearn, including horse riding, rock climbing and abseiling, mountain biking and golf. Crieff Hydro has terrific facilities for a range of exciting outdoor activities, and there is angling on the rivers and lochs as well as watersports on Loch Earn.

It's not what outdoor activity you do that matters, it's the getting out there and doing it that counts, and the Crieff and Strathearn area is ideal!

The Drovers' Tryst offers outdoor activities suitable for all the family
